How it all started...
A Refuge in the City went from a thought to paper Monday, May 12, 2014, as 'The Church God Called’. When the Lord would say something, I would write it down in my notebook and, keep it moving. I initially thought I was writing and taking notes for my husband and I along with our children to launch ministry together as a family, when the Lord said. In the year 2017, I was enlightened to my dismay, I must move forward with or without a husband. God's obedience over my desire.
I have truly come to realize that whether I want to, is not the point - my love and desire to obey always outweighs my want to!
The name changed to A Refuge in the City, Saturday, July 18, 2015. This came to light after the eyes of my understanding were opened to the position Pappa had me already functioning in for the last 20 + years of my life. So here we are. You, me and Holy Spirit moving forward in the purpose He has destined for us for such a time as this.
Monday, May 29, 2017, the Lord informed me I am the Administrator and Founder of A Refuge in the City, and every Servant Leader of each ministry will be functioning as Pastors. Pastors provide nutrients for growth, right? Right!

Expanding the vision...
The Culture of A Refuge in the City will be the brand that sets us as a pattern for others to follow in the Body of Christ.
